i need help on a nutrition project about diets for cardiac patients and what country it would be hard to follo
it say to choose a country or ethnicity where the diet recommended for cardiac disease would be difficult to follow due to dietary customs in that country and to present a food pyramid from that country and a food pyramid for the recommended diet of cardiac disease
Hmm, I would imagine Mexico due to all of the meats, cheeses, desserts, vegetables and fruits they choose to eat and how they fix their food.
Fish Oil for Neurogenic Pain
Neuropathic pain is a chronic pain state that can be caused by trauma to the nerve tissue. In most cases the nerve fibers are often damaged or inflamed and because of this, the nerves are sending incorrect signals to the brain’s pain centers. Neuropathic pain is initially hard to diagnose, however, treatment can be as simple as taking an Omega-3 fish oil supplement.
The body produces pro-inflammatory cytokines. Under normal function they have various roles in inflammation, fever, regulation of blood pressure, clotting, immune function, tissues growth and regulation of the sleep cycle. However, if the balance isn’t maintained due to injury or poor diet, it can cause an overwhelming inflammation response. One of the many signs of inflammation in the body is deep neuropathic pain; such as fibromyalgia, thoracic outlet syndrome, low immune function, carpal tunnel and atherosclerosis; just to state a few.
Omega 3 fatty acids have overwhelming anti-inflammatory affects. It is very crucial to proper brain and many other body functions. A recent study from The University of Toronto, Canada published a case series of patients suffering from neuropathic pain syndromes.
Five patients with different underlying diagnoses including; cervical radiculopathy (slipped disc), thoracic outlet syndrome, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, and severe burns, they were treated with high oral doses of omega 3 fatty acids from fish oil (varying from 2400-7200 mg/day of EPA and DHA).
As a result of this treatment, patients had significant reduction in pain, improved function and overall wellbeing. After 19 months of treatment, there were NO serious side effects. Omega 3 fatty acid supplementation aids in a wide variety of health conditions including: Joint inflammation, chronic spinal pain, auto-immune disease, depression; etc. It is thought that suppressing the pro-inflammatory cytokines with the anti inflammatory Omega 3’s can greatly affect the body processes in the positive and a healthy balance can be maintained with no side effects.

Blance of nutrition in a homemade dog diet?
I am researching ways to create a nutritionally balanced homemade diet for dogs. I am researching homemade diets and raw diets. Do any of you make homemade dog food? Where did you come up with your nutrition balance? Can you list some websites that tell what a good nutrition balance is for homemade dog food?
It does depend on the breed and their activities.
For my sighthounds, I use a combination of the following:
-cooked ground beef
-cooked ground turkey
-hard-boiled eggs
-plain yogurt
-salmon oil
-Nature’s Kitchen Preference dehydrated dog food supplement.
We used to use regular turkey meat roasted when we had full birds in abundance, but the ground works better because you can cook it and the ground beef (73% lean is usually OK) at the same time in the wok.
You can use raw eggs, but the boiled ones are safer.
The salmon oil is good for their coats, comes in a pump dispenser, one squirt per 20# of pet weight.
The yogurt is a good calcium source and keeps their gut flora balanced.
The Preference is dehyrdated veggies, fruits, and greens that provide good vitamins and nutrients for them.
We discovered this combinaton as a spinoff of a cancer diet we concocted for one of our previous dogs. We used to do kibble, but they hated it, and refused to eat it, so no more.

Where can I get cheap, online nutrition and fitness courses?
I’m not looking to become certified. Right now I just want to learn as much as I can about applied fitness and nutrition (without diet-craze influenced bias) and want to take some classes. Does anyone know of any legitimate, relatively cheap online courses in fitness and nutrition? I’m looking for general courses, but sports fitness and nutrition would be fine as well. Thanks!
*I’m not trying to lose weight, I want to eventually become a Persona Trainer and want a foundation before my certification courses.

Digestive Enzymes, Nutrition and Your Health
Nutrition by Natalie
Information about Digestive Enzymes
Digestive Enzymes are enzymes that specifically work in the digestive system to facilitate the digestion, absorption, and transportation of nutrients. They also work to promote timely elimination of digestive waste products that are not of use to the body. Without enzymes, our cells would not get adequate nutrition and we would not survive.
Enzymes function as catalysts to enhance and dramatically speed up biochemical reactions that occur in every one of our cells. They are only activated in water, so staying hydrated is very important for enzymes to work effectively. Enzymes must be present to ensure proper digestion of nutrients, energy production, metabolism, transportation of fluid to cells, and elimination of toxins among many other functions.
Enzymes exist in foods to help our body’s breakdown what we eat. Raw, uncooked foods are the only foods that contain enzymes. Since the majority of our diets are cooked foods, we significantly limit the enzymes available in our food for digestion, thus putting more stress on our digestive systems. Some supplemental enzymes should be taken with food to enhance digestion and absorption of nutrients, whereas other supplemental enzymes should be taken on an empty stomach to support circulation, decrease inflammation, support our immune systems and combat stress. Imbalances in these factors have been scientifically proven to be associated with or the cause of numerous diseases.

Working out diets and nutrition plans?
I am confused i have a nutrition plan i got and i really want to start it because i know if i am not eating enough times a day good and clean i will not loose weight or gain mass or muscle people say protein screws your kidneys and without protein no muscle but everything that has protein seems to be high in fat or Cholesterol trans fat etc… the plan i have is high in protein and cholesterol but it all comes from good clean healthy food no junk and crap and a couple protein shakes a day it seems good but i am not to sure i am only asking because i really want to start working out hardcore but i know the way i eat now and the things i eat will do nothing for me no muscle or nothing but damm if healthy food is high in Cholesterol and trans fat and fat saturated fat etc…. how is it possible i just need help someone please and thank you for all the responces to
Are you trying to lose weight? It is good to find foods with protein, but make sure you don’t over do protein, there is a limit. Try not to exceed 130 grams of protein a day. Only have one protein shake at most a day also. Each protein shake has about 25-50g. Too much protein and your body wont process it all. So just eat healthy and make sure you have a good balance of foods. Try to exercise and weight train if you are trying to lose weight. Good Luck!
