What do the "Bible is the perfect instruction manual for life" folks think about healthy diet and exercise?

Serious question.

I’ve met people who claim the Bible contains all the information a person needs. If there are any of those folks reading this question, how do you feel about the importance of a healthy diet and exercise?

I think that’s incorrect. The Bible doesn’t say all that much about our health. If I remember correctly it says something about walking for health but it wasn’t a commanded or a sin not to.

Yoga Provides Natural Relief From Seizures

A pilot study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (2006; 12(4): 367-71) involved 20 patients with epilepsy who had at least four complex partial seizures in the previous ninety days. Subjects were observed for three months to provide a baseline. For the next ninety days they performed yoga and meditation for 20 minutes, twice daily. After the initial three months, meditation and yoga became optional, and 16 of the 20 subjects continued the practice. Follow-up at three, six and 12 months, showed that seizure frequency had drastically been reduced. Eight of the subjects continued practicing yoga and meditation for more than six months; those patients had at least a 50% reduction in the number of seizures, with three of them being seizure-free. As always, I recommend trying the natural approaches first. Give your body a chance to heal itself naturally. The majority of the time, if given the proper tools, your body with balance itself out.

What is a healthy diet and exercise routine for a teenager?

I’m 13 years old and I don’t do any exercise. I’m not fat, I’m just average. But I don’t think I’m really that healthy so I want to know a healthy diet and exercise routine. I’m not really aiming to lose weight. I only take a walk around the neighborhood for 30~45 minutes. I just eat anything that I like. I’m not very obsessed with my weight I’m just trying to be healthy people!!!

Use exercises that use you own body weight (like push-up, pull ups, dips n such). If your going for a nice stomach, I’ve found combining leg lifts as you do a crunch is quite effective. As far as diet, stay away from high sugar intake. People become addicted to sugar and it starts in the early teens. Drink mostly water. Eat a healthy balance, and maybe talk to your parents about taking a multi-vitamin too. Cardio is important and when the motivation hits you go jogging. Start with 15mins and increase the time at your pace.

Here’s the low-down on what I’m doing to lose weight and how it works.

1. Figure out what your “maintain weight” calories are and eat 500 calories LESS than that number every day.

2. Exercise for at least 30 minutes, 5x/week.

3. Drink water! Divide your weight in half and drink that number in ounces of water every day.

(4. Make healthier choices as you go along and get better at doing steps 1-3.)

1/4 Cucumber, peeled and sliced
1/4 Cup Garlic Feta Cheese

Green Tea (and similar Asian teas), English Breakfast Tea and Irish Breakfast Tea need no sweetener if you use 1 Tsp of lemon juice instead (0 calories).

Vanilla chai (and decaf vanilla chai), peppermint tea and bangal spice teas all also need no sweeteners or additives of any kind.

3)structure- to eat healthy and exercising takes a lot of will power that when done correctly will bring great satisfaction. you’ll be living proof that you have the power to make yourself a better person and have the willpower and mental dexterity to complete a task to its fullest. personnalIy I was a trouble youth (got kicked out of my first college for partying too much, etc) nd not until I decided I wanted to change my body did my behavior begin to improve. I think my life is 100xbetter being healthy and enjoying life for what it is and only occasionally partying than what I did my freshman year.

Can anyone tell me a healthy exercise routine for a 13 year old and my son also says he wants abs, possible?

My son is getting out of shape and he has these to lumps of what looks like fat below his belly button where his lower abdominal muscules would be and also in addition to the question, could anyone tell me how he can get rid of those, he’s begging for an answer.

Follow these tips and you be losing weight in no time:
1. Drink lots of cold water.
2. Never eat in between meals.
3. YOU MUST AVOID ALL takeaway food, junk food, soft drinks(Pepsi max is ok), cakes, biscuits, ice cream, greasy, salty&fatty foods etc, at all costs.
4. Do some mixed exercises like pilates, cardio, sit ups etc for at least 1-2hrs each day.
5. Eat healthy and around 1200 calories at tops each day.

Can healthy diet and exercise really help with stomach problems/noises?

For the last year I’ve rarely eaten healthy, and rarely exercise. I’ve heard that if you start exercise and eating more nutritiously, then the stomach problems/noises will settle down.

Is this true?
